About BUWG

The group exists to promote interest in and conservation of wildlife and habitats in the Bradf
ord area. 
A good example of our work is the creation and maintenance of a butterfly meadow on land at Shipley station, carried out in partnership with the Yorkshire Branch of Butterfly Conservation

Rodley Nature Reserve has won the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 
 Nature Reserve of the Year 2018. 

Readers of the magazine were invited to nominate sites. 

An expert panel reviewed all the suggestions, reducing thenominees to five in each category. The winner was selected by Public vote

The other shortlisted reserves were:-

Clara Vale, Tyne & Wear
      Loch Druidibeg, South Uist
